TEA Summer Research Program
This program engages students and teachers from high schools in economically disadvantaged areas in an intensive summer research experience. Students participate in a three week research project, working with their teachers in the final week to create a presentation on the research and value for teaching. Teachers develop practical applications of the research in the classroom and students are both helpers for them in this endeavor and ambassadors to their high school in the areas of scientific research and college education.

Auburn Bioinformatics Bootcamp
The bootcamp is a weeklong, active, workshop that provides training in bioinformatics, scripting and command-line computing.

Auburn Computational Biology and Interdisciplinary STEM REU
These programs aim to provide a summer long (10 week) research experience and training for undergraduates interested in computational biology, bioinformatics and genomics. The aim is to provide opportunities in this area of research for underrepresented and underprivileged students in our region.

Destination STEM
Our lab hosts the ‘Genetics on the Fly’ booth – an interactive, rapid fire, introduction to fruit fly genetics for middle and high school students. Destination STEM is an open house for regional students considering STEM careers.

Auburn Summer Science Institute
The Summer Science Institute at Auburn University is a summer science program for rising 11th-12th grade students with a high aptitude and interest in the fields of science and mathematics. The program, supported by the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM) at Auburn University, partners students with experienced AU Science and Math research faculty to explore topics more advanced than what is typically taught in a public or private high school environment.
